Choosing the correct reinforcing bar
Steel rebar is selected according to the structural design and the applicable engineering standard. A2, A3 and A4 are market designations for reinforcing grades with different mechanical requirements. A bar should never be substituted solely on the basis of a lower quoted price.
An enquiry should specify grade, diameter, length, rib profile, allowable tolerance, mill test certificate requirements and bundling. Local market naming may differ from the importing country's approved product standard.
How rebar pricing is assessed
A rebar quotation depends on grade, nominal diameter, length, producing mill, tonnage, loading location and delivery basis. Two suppliers' prices can only be compared when the material specifications and freight responsibilities are equivalent.
For planning only, a steel rebar's theoretical mass is approximately diameter squared divided by 162 kilograms per metre, with diameter expressed in millimetres. Final shipment weights require appropriate verification.
Export rebar documentation
For a cross-border order, indicate the importing country, quantity, bar size, applicable standard, bundle identification, inspection requirements and expected shipping date. The buyer should agree the certificate type and delivery terms before confirming the order.
